Tailored for Grades 1–6, this in-person program builds a strong math foundation through hands-on, age-appropriate lessons in a supportive environment led by experienced teachers.


📅 Course Details (18 hours total)

  • Where: Aardvark Learning Academy, 555 Mapleview Dr West, Unit 203, Barrie, ON
  • Class Times:
  • Grades 1–3: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM = Includes addition, subtraction / number sense and games
  • Grades 4–6: 11:35 AM – 1:05 PM = Includes long division, fractions, algebra
  • Format: In-person, small-group lessons 
  • Fee: $600 for 18 hours ($33/hour) – affordable, high-quality math education!

Early Literacy, Reading and Math
Accelerate your learning at Aardvark!

Reading​
Aardvark's accelerated English program Grade 1-8 is specifically designed to build and integrate core literacy skills to fast track student's reading power.

The foundation of our literacy program is Phonics, which provide a logical system to recognize the sounds of English and the spelling combinations and apply these to decoding text in reading.

​Once students have built the core foundation that strengthen student's reading and writing ability, younger students soon realize that their English has improved and develop a positive cycle of confidence, interest and readiness to learn at school.
Math
Aardvark focus on building Literacy and core Math skills during our tutoring sessions with younger learners.

As younger students are able to fully integrate their literacy skills into Math sessions we can ensure that the concepts covered at school (number values, multiplication, division, geometry, spatial relationships, algebra) are reinforced during their Tutoring and Mentoring sessions with Aardvark Instructors.

​At Aardvark each student receives the individual attention and quality of instruction that younger students require to fast track their Math skills through our Accelerated Math program.  ​

After 32 Hours of Attendance

Students who have completed 32 hours of lessons with us and achieved their goals are issued a certificate of completion from Aardvark Learning Academy!

What is THRASS?

​Teaching Handwriting, Reading and Spelling Skills through phonics chart divided into 24 consonants and 17 vowel sounds of Canadian English.
Why THRASS?
THRASS phonics provides the most comprehensive & easy way for students, parents and teachers to improve reading, writing and spelling skills.  The THRASS chart gives K-8 students an accurate way to See, Hear and Say / repeat the 40+ sounds of English (phonemes).  The THRASS chart also provides a clear way for parents and teachers to identify areas a student has success with and areas that need further study.
How Does It Work?
THRASS teaches K-8 students and ESL learners how to recognize the 40+ sounds of English (phonemes) and spell these combinations correctly with the THRASS Phonics chart in the video.
